While trying to optimize my Pinoytechie.com and Pinoyfilm.com sites -- both Drupal installations -- particularly the latter, I noticed in the status bar of my Firefox browser, that a certain dg.specificclick.net was causing the web pages of my site to load slowly.

Researching on the net I discovered that the slow load times were being caused by my Site Meter block. It's sad that Site Meter, which is one of the most popular site performance services gave in to a company which allegedly is a spyware organization.

I'm now even suspecting that the specificclick adware may have caused the high CPU loads at my servers prompting my hosts to suspend my accounts. Culprit or not, the specificclick cookie has definitely inconvenienced myself and my sites' users.

I've now disabled Site Meter in all of my sites.
