TVUPlayer: Watch Unavailable Channels on the Internet
At the WorldPoolChampionship.com forums, I discovered this peer-to-peer (p2p) software called TVUPlayer. It’s like Napster/Bearshare/Kazaa, only it’s for TV streaming. You get to watch TV channels which are not available in your area or from your cable TV provider. So if you’re in Asia, for example, you can watch US TV channels, and vice-versa. Works well if you have broadband. It’s around a couple of minutes late behind the live feed, but does it matter?
So how does the program work? Just download it from the TVU Networks site, install, open the program, and just click on a channel. After a couple of minutes or so, the channel’s feed will appear on the TVU Player screen.
Some noteworthy channels on TVUPlayer: Fox, CBS, NBC, ESPN, ESPN2, Hollywood Movie Channel, Comedy Central, and the Sports Channel which broadcasts NHL and NBA games.
